AwA supported Lordel Musique in the creation of its online store, a musical instrument shop based in Caen and known for its expertise with amateur, advanced, and professional musicians.

The goal was to build a reliable and high-performance e-commerce platform capable of showcasing a large catalog of instruments, accessories, and specialized references, while also addressing the technical constraints of a period when Magento 2 was still young and unstable.

This project perfectly illustrates AwA’s ability to design robust, custom, and pragmatic e-commerce solutions, even in complex technical environments requiring unconventional architectural choices.

The main challenge of this project was to overcome the early limitations of Magento 2, which at the time still contained many bugs and did not provide the stability required for a demanding e-commerce website. We therefore built a custom downgrade application to rely on a more stable Magento 1.9 base, while maintaining a clean and well-tested migration logic.

Another key challenge was rebuilding a fully functional store from scratch, including complete module configuration, custom developments, and proper server infrastructure management to ensure stability, performance, and business continuity.
